Important Dates

The University's Academic Calendar identifies important dates and deadlines by which students must add, drop, or withdraw from classes. Visit the Registrar's website for the full UConn academic calendar.

Before students enroll in classes, we recommend that they schedule an appointment with their academic advisor. Not sure who your advisor is? Find your academic advisor or view the CLAS advising directory.

General Semester Schedule for Adding, Dropping, or Withdrawing from a Class

Period Add Single Drop Two or More Drops
First and second weeks of classes Students can add a course on their own using the Student Administration System. Students can drop a course on their own using the Student Administration System. Students can drop two or more courses on their own using the Student Administration System.
Third and fourth weeks of classes Signature of your advisor, instructor, and department head. Take form to the Registrar's office. Signature of your advisor. Take form to the Registrar's office. Results in a “W” grade. Signature of your advisor and dean designee in the CLAS Academic Services Center. Take form to the Registrar's office. Results in corresponding “W” grades.
After the fourth week of classes You cannot add a class after the 4th week of classes. Signature of your advisor. Take form to the Registrar's office. Results in a “W” grade.
